40th Anniversary - 1978-2018
June 1, 2018
Brothers and Sisters,
At this time of the year, we are curtailing all our meetings and activities. We all need to take time to rest and enjoy some "down time". It is a necessity to attend to projects that we are not able to do during the busy visitor season. Our Parish Office will have reduced hours in order for the Staff to do inventory, filing, end of year reports, painting, scrubbing, and so many other projects.
At our Church, we continue spiritually to focus each month on our "Spiritual Birthday" (First Sunday); our Confirmation (Second Sunday); the blessing of your Marriage Anniversary (Third Sunday); and the importance of a reverent and frequent reception of Holy Communion. The primary Sacrament is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on Sunday.
This year is the 40th Anniversary of our Church. Saint Francis of Assisi Church in Grove City has offered the Sacraments at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass every day for 40 years. As testimony to our life as a Catholic Eucharistic Community, ADORATION and BENEDICTION of the Holy Eucharist is now in our Church EVERY Friday morning after the Mass at 8:15am. Especially during this our Anniversary Year, I encourage you to join the "40" Adorers at Adoration from 9:00 to 10:00am each Friday. Many parishioners participate in Benediction at 10:00am.
I encourage every Parishioner who is able, especially our "Retired" to offer 10 minutes to a half-hour of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament at Saint Francis of Assisi parish at FRIDAY ADORATION.
Honor our PAST -- Visit Church to say Thank You
Celebrate the PRESENT -- Visit Church to pray for someone special in your life
Pray for the FUTURE -- Visit Church to pray for Our Children and Youth
Sincerely in the Lord,
Father Richard York, your Pastor
