The Saint Francis of Assisi Church Communication team began at the start of 2017. It came as a result of the parish pastoral planning survey in 2016. Communication was one of five areas that surfaced from the parish wide meetings. The first main project was introducing new software to manage our many ministry schedules. A new scheduling tool was rolled out in May 2017. The second main project was a website revamp. Fr York asked Penny Fleming about starting a communications group and to begin the task of updating and modernizing our Saint Francis of Assisi Church website.
The Saint Francis of Assisi Church Communications team will strive to make information flow throughout our church community, building connections and understanding along the way. Using a variety of tools such as our website, social media presences, email communication and print, we will look for ways to have phenomenal engagement between all ministries so you in the pew know what is going on in your parish.
Today, the group consists of one person and would like to add volunteers to this group. Our next project would be to create a Facebook and Twitter presence which will bring current information to our parishioners. We will continue to update the website periodically by adding photos, promoting volunteer opportunities, and posting upcoming events and current news. Soon, there will be audio/video information on Fr. York's homilies.
