Homebound Ministers of Holy Communion

These volunteers are delegated by the Pastor to bring Holy Communion to those unable to attend Mass. It is a way of caring for those persons with Christ-like compassion by sharing His body in order that they may be strengthened for their journey through this life and to life everlasting.

Homebound Ministers of Holy Communion visit the sick and take them Holy Communion.  This helps make them feel a part of our parish community.  Visits are conducted at your convenience, in private homes and/or healthcare facilities.  Anyone who has received training as a Minister of Holy Communion can receive additional training for this ministry.  If interested in serving within this ministry, contact Martha Mingel via email at mmingel@sfoachurch.com or by phone at (941) 697-4899 Ext. 7205 or completing the Volunteer Information Request Form below.

Volunteer Information Request Form

I am interested in receiving information and/or talking with a Ministry Leader regarding the following Ministry. I have reviewed the information on the webpage regarding this Ministry and would be interested in speaking with the Ministry Leader.

I understand that if I decide to join in this ministry, I will need to complete a Volunteer Application Form and, as a part of the Diocese of Venice Safe Environment requirements, all volunteers must take a Safe Environment Training program. Some volunteer opportunities involving children and vulnerable adults also require a fingerprint and background check. (The Parish will pay the fee for this).

Please fill in contact information below.

A Ministry Leader will be in contact with you in the immediate future. Thank you for your interest in sharing your time and talent.
