As required by Canon Law and Diocesan policy, St. Francis of Assisi Parish has a Parish Finance Council, comprising of the Pastor and five or six parishioners. Its role is advisory and consultative to the Pastor. The Council meets at least quarterly to review the parish accounts which are sent to the Diocese. The members help in the formulation of the annual financial report to the parish. They should also take an interest ensuring the proper maintenance of the parish property, and assist in long range planning and budgeting.
Members are appointed by the Pastor, and normally serve for two years, but this term may be renewed.
A member of the Parish Pastoral Council acts as a liaison between the Pastoral Council and the Finance Council, and is therefore a member of both councils.
