PCM - 2018-2019 Religious Education for Children (Grades K-12)
Parish Catechetical Ministry
Echoing the Name Jesus
July 23, 2018
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Catechists,
We hope your Summer time is providing some restful days and family get togethers. We will have REGISTRATION for Kindergarten through Eighth Grade after all Masses August 18-19 & 25-26. Please bring a copy of your child’s Baptism certificate. We are happy to have you participate. Invite other families to come and grow in Catholic faith.
- All families need to be Registered Parishioners.
- For your child to receive First Communion and Confirmation two (2) years of attendance is REQUIRED.
- A sign-in for Sunday Mass is required for all families (K-8) at the 10:00am Mass. There will be reserved pews for our families, on the second and fourth Sundays of each month, Holyday, Christmas and Easter Masses, in the front left section of the Church.
Our Parish Catechetical Ministry for Kindergarten through Eighth Grade is on Tuesdays, beginning on September 4 from 5:30-6:45pm. The First Holy Communion preparation begins in first grade and is completed in second grade.
On OPENING DAY, September 4, Parents and Guardians are required to accompany their children to the Parish Hall to meet your Child’s Catechist. The Catechists will escort the children to their classrooms. Parents and Guardians remain for the Introduction. Every Tuesday thereafter, Parents and Guardians are REQUIRED to present their Child to their Catechist at their classroom before 5:30pm. Sunday Mass is required for all families on the second and fourth Sundays at the 10:00am Mass.
Religious Education is an essential responsibility for Parents & Guardians to help your children learn and grow in their love and faith in Jesus Christ and His Church and the Sacraments. Our Ministry provides catechesis for our youth and children. We have good activities for our families this year, e.g., All Saints Parade, Nativity Drama, Family Pizza, Soup Dinners, Stations of the Cross, Pancake Breakfasts, Spaghetti Dinners, etc. We have certified and qualified volunteer Catechists who live their faith and help teach the children. Our goal is to lead our Catholic children and families to grow in Communion with Jesus Christ, receive the SACRAMENTS, and live as active, committed members of the Catholic Church.
Sincerely in the Lord,
Father Richard York, Pastor Jim Brantner, Religious Education Coordinator
